Perhaps it is time to look East!<br /><br />With the strong US dollars, traveling to the Far East may be the way to go. Not only will you get the chance to visit these exotic places, you will be doing a whole lot more as your dollars convert to more bang<br /><br />Holidays are coming soon, and are you planning a trip to Asia, and still scratching your head for the places to pay visits to? Asia offers great attractions to the persons who like traveling around the world. If you are on<br /><br /><br />There is no better time to plan a trip to Asia. The U.S. dollar is at an all time low, but you'll still get more bang for your greenback in the cheapest destinations. Sticking to the well beaten tourist paths will lead you to some of the most famous sites in the world, i.e. the Great Wall of China, the Grand Palace complex in Bangkok and Sentosa Island in Singapore. If you're a bit more adventurous and are wary of package tours travelling around independently will bring you closer to the local people, and you might pick up some useful phrases in their language which will come in handy especially in countries like China and Thailand.<br /><br /><div class="mediaContainer"> <div id="imgEnv-fullSizedImage" class="imgEnv" style="width: 324px; height: 400px; vertical-align: middle;"><img class="media" id="fullSizedImage" src="http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u354/khmerghost1/asian_girls15.jpg" alt="asian_girls15.jpg asian girls image by khmerghost1" galleryimg="no" style="width: 324px; height: 400px;" /></div></div><br /><br />China, still riding high from the success of the 2008 Olympic Games, is welcoming thousands of foreign visitors every year. Beijing and Shanghai are abuzz with 21st century capitalism, while smaller cities to the west like Xi'an and Kunming have yet to catch up with the consumerism of their eastern cousins. Most first timers to China land in Beijing, and here you'll get a nice taste of recent and ancient Chinese history. Tiananmen Square, where Mao Zedong first announced the birth of the People's Republic of China in 1949, is right in the middle of town. It's the largest public square in the world. Get to Beijing while you still can because the city is currently undergoing a huge wave of modernization, and many of the older hutongs (streets) are being cleared to make way for newer apartment complexes. Travelling to the western provinces will require more time and patience, but the rewards are well worth the effort. Costs are lower, traditional culture is more visible and the pace of life is not as hectic. A sight not to be missed in Xi'an is the Terracotta Warriors, which were unearthed in the 1970s and are more than 2,000 years old.<br /><br />Thailand, otherwise known as the Land of Smiles, remains a popular country for budget travellers. Bangkok, with its serene golden temples and Buddha images, will offer comfort and convenience to even the pickiest of tourists. Khao San Road has the cheapest beds in town; you can score a room with air-con for as little as $10 U.S./night. On the other end of the scale there is the Mandarin Oriental, which has been rated as one of the best luxury hotels in the world. Visiting Thailand will not break the bank. Once you get out of Bangkok and head up north to Chiang Mai costs will fall even further. The weather is cooler and there are plenty of opportunities for trekking and elephant riding. Beach lovers will want to head south down to Ko Samui and Ko Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. Again, costs are cheap! You'll pay next to nothing for sleeping in a hammock and eating the most basic food. Before you leave Bangkok don't miss Chatuchak Market, it has bargains galore (clothes, souvenirs and more).<br /><br /><div class="mediaContainer"> <div id="imgEnv-fullSizedImage" class="imgEnv" style="width: 311px; height: 389px; vertical-align: middle;"><img class="media" id="fullSizedImage" src="http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f319/booger76/Asian_Sexy.jpg" alt="Asian_Sexy.jpg asian girls image by booger76" galleryimg="no" style="width: 311px; height: 389px;" /></div></div><br /><br />Flanked by Malaysia to the north and Indonesia to the south, Singapore is clean, orderly and has one of the most organized and pleasant airports in the world. In fact, visitors come here just to marvel at the amenities present in Changi International Airport. With a rooftop swimming pool, free internet access, free movies and Xbox games, it's a magnet for kids. Adults will no doubt be pleased with the speed of the immigration process, and free tours of the city are offered for all passengers. Singapore's colonial past can still be seen at the Raffles Hotel. Even if you can't afford to stay here (and apart from the richest of the rich, not many can) you can still have a drink at the bar. Singapore is a little more expensive than Thailand, but it's a worthwhile stop on any Asian itinerary. It's safe and there is virtually no crime.<br /><br />Bon voyage!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Asian destinations for the US dollar<br /></span><img class="media" id="fullSizedImage" src="http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj275/asiangirlsimages/asiangirls40.jpg" alt="asiangirls40.jpg Asian girls image by asiangirlsimages" galleryimg="no" style="width: 277px; Cheap Asian travel is done by being intelligent with your cash and being well informed of what is going on. Last year when I was in Thailand the ratio of the dollar to the Thai baht currency was about 40 baht to 1 dollar, now it is about 30 to 1! Paying attention to the local politics and what is going on in the world is just one of many ways that you can make Asian travel cheap.<br /><br /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3203/2468401851_a81a262e73.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3203/2468401851_a81a262e73.jpg" /><br /><br />One of the most basic things for cheap Asian travel is to live like the locals. This doesn't mean that you are going to be out the rice field’s work from dawn to dusk like some of the locals, but you will have a similar lifestyle that will also add a lot of culture to your trip. Instead of eating at that nice Westerner restaurant go down and eat from one of the street stalls. You'll have a blast eating with the locals and attempting to communicate with them and you'll also get a chance to really sample some of the local flavor that is quite good. Don't worry about getting sick, the locals wouldn't be eating there if they were getting sick, so you shouldn't either.<br /><br />One of the biggest keys to cheap Asian travel is how you decide to go about seeing Asia. Clearly if you want to fly it's going to cost you quite a bit more then the local bus. Now there are some tourist busses that are great and get you to where you need to go for cheap, but be warned, there is a reason for why they are cheap. One of the reasons is that they stop at specific locations for meals that are out in the middle of nowhere so they can jack the prices up. So if you do take these busses take a sack meal or bit the bullet and pay the jacked up prices. The best option in my opinion for cheap Asian travel is to take the local bus. You'll experience that countries culture up close and directly and you'll be doing it for the same price as the locals themselves.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Be a cheap Asian Traveler<br /><br /></span><div id="photoImgDiv86099549" style="width: 502px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/39/86099549_3814f6bfc4.jpg?v=0" alt="The Chinese Mafia Smiles #2 by .bullish." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="375" width="500" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3167/2907025226_9758192003.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3167/2907025226_9758192003.jpg" /><br /><br /><br /></div><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/205/498152628_ab56e7ee36.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/205/498152628_ab56e7ee36.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/21/93791742_cb8cb8cf08.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/21/93791742_cb8cb8cf08.jpg" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv2258016727" style="width: 502px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2211/2258016727_65e72de0ff.jpg?v=0" alt="Chinese smile by Little Atlas." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="432" width="500" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv168807789" style="width: 419px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/65/168807789_0a72705f1f.jpg?v=0" alt="···The·best·China·has·to·offer!··· by *mangu* wanders by mistake...." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="417" /></div><br /><div id="photoImgDiv459554431" style="width: 370px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/224/459554431_18a975342e.jpg?v=0" alt="Unforgettable Smile by tinyfishy." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="368" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv459554431" style="width: 370px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/224/459554431_18a975342e.jpg?v=0" alt="Unforgettable Smile by tinyfishy." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="368" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv196907255" style="width: 309px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/68/196907255_12e9652f6f.jpg?v=0" alt="smile@summer by want2fly_ustb." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="307" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv310465837" style="width: 502px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/108/310465837_80c4d9252c.jpg?v=0" alt="- smiling happy me - Japanese Girls all smiles<span style="font-weight: bold;">Forget about Japanese Legs for now and Take a look at Japanese Smiles<br /><br />Are you turning Japanese?</span><br /><div id="body"><p>There are atleast 130 million people who speak the Japanese language. This includes most people in Japan itself, as well as Japanese speaking communities in many other countries. Some of the largest overseas Japanese speaking communities can be found in Australia, Brazil, Peru, the Philippines, the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the Republic of Korea (South Korea). There is also of course a significant Japanese speaking population in the United States of America, particularly in the state of Hawaii.</p><p><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/23/40263834_74d526914d.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/23/40263834_74d526914d.jpg" /></p><p>Learning to speak and become fluent in Japanese, could be of great help if you intend on doing business in Japan. Knowing the language will of course also help you to appreciate Japanese culture and history, even if you plan on visiting Japan on vacation.</p><p>One option for learning Japanese is to go Japanese language classes. You may be able to find such colleges in your area at an adult education center or college. Of course, classes may not be available in all areas, and if you have a very busy work schedule attending a regular class may simply be impractical. In these cases, or if you simply don't like the idea of going to classes, you may want to consider the alternatives that are available.</p><p><img alt="The image “http://farm1.static.flickr.com/205/489665927_3a9c58cd77.jpg?v=0” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors." src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/205/489665927_3a9c58cd77.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1412/936683332_6352e294c6.jpg" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1412/936683332_6352e294c6.jpg" /></p><p>There are many Japanese home study courses designed to teach you the language. Older courses were generally based around tapes or books, and while such courses are still widely available, today you also have the option of choosing a computer-based course. Computers have of course greatly improve in the last few years, so modern computer-based courses may include audio, graphical, video and interactive elements. Computer-based courses generally also have the advantage that you can work through them in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace.</p></div><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/77/168575980_57c6173109.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/77/168575980_57c6173109.jpg" /><br /><img alt="The image “http://farm1.static.flickr.com/68/217081899_ebf8ba7229.jpg?v=0” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors." src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/68/217081899_ebf8ba7229.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3130/2612380779_baa7eb35a4.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3130/2612380779_baa7eb35a4.jpg?v=0" /><br /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2321/2191498925_20b1c30b83.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2321/2191498925_20b1c30b83.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/100/311136312_2292b43957.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/100/311136312_2292b43957.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2226/2517728701_5f1ea5aaa1.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2226/2517728701_5f1ea5aaa1.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/226/459455739_7fc962db96.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/226/459455739_7fc962db96.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2251/2036389111_7364b27aae.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2251/2036389111_7364b27aae.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/141/334840625_e2e62d4fb5.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/141/334840625_e2e62d4fb5.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/59/192545136_5c33e4d0b6.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/59/192545136_5c33e4d0b6.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/83/249803419_d9266877ea.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/83/249803419_d9266877ea.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/116/301523398_994fe27e63.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/116/301523398_994fe27e63.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/51/193964787_afee4f0954.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/51/193964787_afee4f0954.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3109/2595700045_69c62ee5bb.jpg?v=1214057407" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3109/2595700045_69c62ee5bb.jpg?v=1214057407" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2005/2222663108_640692bdb9.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2005/2222663108_640692bdb9.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1405/739845597_2eda82ccb8.jpg" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1405/739845597_2eda82ccb8.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/82/262343705_36a431282c.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/82/262343705_36a431282c.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1292/1347244215_ee42b7655c.jpg" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1292/1347244215_ee42b7655c.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3280/2825241105_1c9aa5216a.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3280/2825241105_1c9aa5216a.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2298/2041796895_8fdf3cca2a.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2298/2041796895_8fdf3cca2a.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2108/2191453211_649060aa8f.jpg?v=1200301688" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2108/2191453211_649060aa8f.jpg?v=1200301688" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3201/2472957250_da2d977b51.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3201/2472957250_da2d977b51.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/45/134037414_5b53cc5bab.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/45/134037414_5b53cc5bab.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3059/2472770007_1ed365628f.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3059/2472770007_1ed365628f.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2163/2101945433_ef2b9436e4.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2163/2101945433_ef2b9436e4.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3166/2606765902_f77f929d0c.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3166/2606765902_f77f929d0c.jpg" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3282/2655587962_4f5f77b2b5.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3282/2655587962_4f5f77b2b5.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3213/2507136869_d5b3dfd916.jpg?v=0" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3213/2507136869_d5b3dfd916.jpg?v=0" /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2251/2479173739_5dbc0da3f0.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2251/2479173739_5dbc0da3f0.jpg" /><br /><img alt="The image “http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/168207013_084c1331a4.jpg?v=0” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors." src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/168207013_084c1331a4.jpg?v=0" />DUI lawyer in LAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14740175990216970446noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-773627500022265239.post-84055332225398974732008-09-15T05:58:00.000-07:002008-09-15T06:18:28.895-07:00Asian Smiles set for September - How to win an Asian girl<span style="font-weight: bold;">Asian Smiles set for September - How to win an Asian girl</span><br /><br /><div id="body"><p>Have you ever been in a situation where you really want to approach a hot Asian woman without looking like a pervert? Or, have you ever wanted to really approach a girl at work or in school but is too shy?</p><p>Approaching Asian women is hard. Most people think the best way to attract a girl is to stand out by wearing fancy and colorful clothes or saying silly pickup lines. The worst pickup line is usually a question like, "Hey guys! I need to ask an opinion about something....", because it is been over used to death by people in the underground pickup community. Girls know all the tricks guys will do to get her into bed.</p><p>Unfortunately, most guys think using only routines and techniques will definitely get you the girl of your dreams. They think if they really master all these techniques, they can get any woman into bed. Women are getting smarter, they read articles about the latest pickup techniques and when guys try it on them, they know they're not genuine.</p><p>The easiest and most effective way to pick up a girl is to go directly to them, look into their eye (and don't try to look at their breasts), give a genuine smile and say hello. You be surprised how happy to see a guy genuinely interested in them without looking like a dork. Being genuine is the best and most effective way to turn on a woman, doing anything else is hard and a waste of time.</p></div><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1265/887092162_579edfa9a7.jpg" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1265/887092162_579edfa9a7.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2271/2083445515_66da88db38.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2271/2083445515_66da88db38.jpg" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv2781570272" style="width: 335px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/2781570272_5f5c5f9bae.jpg?v=0" alt="Kymco Girl Zero by ruei_ke." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="333" /></div><script type="text/javascript">F.decorate(_ge('photo_notes'), F._photo_notes).notes_go_go_go(2781570272, 'http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/2781570272_5f5c5f9bae_t.jpg', '3.1444');</script><form id="fave_form" method="post" style="visibility: hidden;"><input name="magic_cookie" value="75c58cc9be4f592be6c4bb2f95f9d3fd" type="hidden"><input name="faveadd" value="0" type="hidden"><input name="faveremove" value="0" type="hidden"></form> <!-- <rdf:rdf xmlns="http://web.resource.org/cc/" dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"> <work about=""> <dc:title>Kymco Girl Zero</dc:title> <dc:date>2008</dc:date> <dc:description>Lighting was difficult with bright mid-day sun. And obviously, when you smile, your teeth are on display. Bad teeth or gums – essentially bed dental health – can mar your smile and make you very conscious. One must remember that good dental health doesn’t always require sacrificing beauty for function. Ultimately, emanates form good health.<br /><div id="photoImgDiv1334767596" style="width: 150px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1254/1334767596_49465cb900.jpg?v=0" alt="Bea by VeNuSGuRL." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="233" width="148" /></div><br /><br />Many habits can ruin a smile. Smoking stains the teeth as does consumption of coffee and tea. Holding objects, like pipe or glasses, in your mouth can cause spaces. Chewing ice or cracking nuts with your teeth can chip or fracture them. Biting, chewing or sucking on the lips or cheeks can damage tissue, and can cause tooth arrangement abnormalities, like spaces. So can constant tongue thrusting or placing your fingernails between your front teeth.<br /><br />Many people erroneously believe that all of their facial defects reside in their smile when, in fact, their problems lie elsewhere. In these cases, plastic or oral surgery, rather than dental treatment, may be necessary, like an incompetent or a short upper lip, wherein your teeth appear to be big and you feel they are jutting out. Virtually everyone can be helped with cosmetic contouring/shaping of teeth to improve the shape of their natural set. By just going to a dentist for treating teeth and gum deformities, you are not assured of a perfect smile. For instance, you may think that if only your front two teeth were capped, you would have a great smile. In reality, however, this treatment may just backfire by making your front two teeth stand out.<br /><div id="photoImgDiv1333881083" style="width: 329px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1059/1333881083_3192f04098.jpg?v=0" alt="Bea by VeNuSGuRL." title="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="327" /></div><br /><br />How to determine your face shape? http://www.beauty-cosmetic-guide.com/hair-style/face-shape.htm<br /><br />Facial shapes can sometimes be altered by changing the way you smile. Stand in front of a mirror and observe the shape of your face when you smile. First, smile normally. Next, smile wider. Observe the effect of the wider smile on your facial outline.<br /><br />• A wider smile will help a square face to appear longer or oval.<br /><br />• If you have a round face, practice smiling such that your teeth show. Open your mouth wide, them smile with your teeth showing. Chances are that your facial profile and smile will improve.<br /><br />• While smiling, ensure that the bottom biting edges of the upper teeth are visible. Again, opening the mouth more may keep the lower lip from covering the edges, thus preventing the teeth from looking like a row of chicklets.<br /><div id="photoImgDiv1334767220" style="width: 340px;" Smiling Girls - Singapore Smile let's travel to Singapore<span style="font-weight: bold;">There’s not much to do in Singapore</span><br /><br />Singapore: SkylineThat may seem an odd way to begin an article that’s meant to puff a destination’s virtues, but in several senses it’s an entirely accurate statement. The tiny city/country of Singapore, sat on its island off the Malaysian coast, is a corporate state. One of the great economies of the Far East, it has a per capita GDP to rival many western countries, a huge and bustling business district and the busiest port in the entire world, bar none. What it doesn’t really have are tourist attractions. There are few great historic monuments here (unless you count a few WWII strongpoints, scarred by the epic siege in 1942 when the Japanese captured the island from the British) largely because this is a pretty new town. Singapore was founded in the nineteenth century by a commercial adventurer, Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. He thought it would be a great stopover place for ships heading for the new markets of the Far East. He was right then, and he’s still right now – and his commercial foresight is the foundation of Singapore’s success. The Raffles Hotel, one of the world’s most exclusive places to stay, still bears his name.<br /><br />Originally Singapore was part of Malaysia, after that country was granted independence in 1963. But the relationship was an uneasy one, and the city state seceded from its much larger – and now rather poorer – neighbor in 1965.<br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/95/246565229_2cd683d35e.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/95/246565229_2cd683d35e.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/91/246566614_7c8f4b55bf.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/91/246566614_7c8f4b55bf.jpg" /><br />Singapore: Har Par VillaSo if this is a place dedicated to trade, entirely governed by the ebb and flow of international markets, why should a tourist find it interesting? Well, there are a number of reasons. First off, it’s just culturally a great place to be. Although technically an authoritarian state (the market, they say, is freer in Singapore than are the people) it is surprisingly lively and content. The average Singaporean may not have a great deal of say in how his city is run, but he doesn’t seem to mind. As long as he can stay on the right side of some of the city’s more peculiar laws – whatever you do, don’t forget to flush the toilet, or you’ll get fined – he can have a very good life indeed.<br /><br />One of the reasons that the city is such an interesting place is that really there is no such thing as the Average Singaporean. All kinds of nationalities make up the population of this city. The majority are of Chinese descent, although if you explore the Little India district you might be forgiven for thinking you were in Delhi or Mumbai. There are a number of official languages, and nearly everyone speaks English. Younger Singaporeans tend to be very easy to understand; local folks over the age of forty, however, often speak the peculiar local dialect of English which includes many loan words from languages as diverse as Mandarin, Tamil, Hindi, Portuguese and Dutch. Usually if you make it clear you are having trouble understanding your interlocutor will slow down or find a younger person to help translate.<br /><div id="photoImgDiv138297326" style="width: 378px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/52/138297326_87a4531cd9.jpg?v=0" alt="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="376" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1433/1361283358_f8d5f14ffd.jpg" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1433/1361283358_f8d5f14ffd.jpg" /><br /></div><br />Singapore: Hindu TempleThe two best ways to enjoy the distinct culture of Singapore are to eat and to shop. Probably the best way to do the former is to avoid the flash restaurants altogether and visit one of the city’s many hawker centers. A few years ago the city government – in a typical piece of mass organization – decided that street food vendors were difficult to control on the streets, and forced them into ready-made centers. This is good for tourists; although a little of the life has been taken out of the city’s street culture, you can enjoy the same great, cheap food in the knowledge that the government is imposing very high standards of hygiene and financial propriety on the people who are selling it to you. Singaporean cuisine is hugely varied, with Chinese, Indian and British influences. If you get a chance, make sure you try local crab in sweet chili sauce.<br /><br />Shopping is the other great Singaporean pastime. Orchard Road is the main shopping street, and has stores from all the world’s leading brands. (You’ll notice, by the way, that you don’t have to spend a lot of time translating road signs in Singapore – nearly all the streets in the downtown area were named by the Brits, so you can often get the bizarre impression that you’re making your way around an English market town rather than a Far Eastern metropolis). If you fancy a shopping trip that’s a little more off-beat, the Bugis area is the place to go – stores here vary from the very cool to the very obscure, and it’s a favorite haunt of the city’s trendy youth.<br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/98/246543862_4ae855d119.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/98/246543862_4ae855d119.jpg" /><br /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/57/246549804_28d3a93010.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/57/246549804_28d3a93010.jpg" /><br />So, this isn’t what you would call a classic tourist destination, but it is a place that has to be visited – if only to find out about the strange way life works….Singapore style.<br /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/85/244681266_804cef97dc.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/85/244681266_804cef97dc.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/84/246546242_86c2e82a74.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/84/246546242_86c2e82a74.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/95/246555672_d7b1a69e9d.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/95/246555672_d7b1a69e9d.jpg" /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/169/379071539_b30505f191.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/169/379071539_b30505f191.jpg" /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv2441730075" style="width: 377px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2038/2441730075_7e34e43c44.jpg?v=0" alt="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" height="500" width="375" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2216/1565144387_07ef6fd1ae.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2216/1565144387_07ef6fd1ae.jpg" /><br /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3243/2334293043_7602cd96bc.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3243/2334293043_7602cd96bc.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/2334292919_de11c39384.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/2334292919_de11c39384.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2205/2334293741_68313a879b.jpg" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2205/2334293741_68313a879b.jpg" /><br /><br /><pre id="line1"><img alt="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3286/2334293913_6f15a8963b.jpg" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3286/2334293913_6f15a8963b.jpg" /><br /><br /><span class="attribute-value"></span><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/133/372023205_550b050e01.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/133/372023205_550b050e01.jpg" /><br /><span class="attribute-value"><br /><br /></span></pre><br /><pre id="line1"><span class="attribute-value"><br /><br /><br /></span></pre><br /></div><br /><pre id="line1"><span class="attribute-value"><br /><br /><br /></span></pre>DUI lawyer in LAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14740175990216970446noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-773627500022265239.post-52606875080472512892008-07-11T00:08:00.001-07:002008-07-11T00:08:26.099-07:00Hello for our first batch of smilers from Asia -Asian Smile GirlsAsian Smiling girls are a plenty, the whole asia is filled with people smiling and girls smiling all over. In fact, this is what it's all about!"<br />Me: "I may regret asking, in fact I'm sure I will, but what about this is what it's all about for you, Hopper?"<br />Hopper: "You know! Ultra adorable Asian girls in their school uniform stylings who are incredibly cute as they tilt their heads, grin, put me in their hair and make peace signs for no reason!"<br />Me: "Hopper, don't be ridiculous, she has a perfectly good and important reason for making a peace sign; it's a very meaningful and deep social statement intended to convey an intrinsic message of how she...uh..."<br />Hopper: "No, she doesn't! You can't even name the reason! You know she just does it because it is part of how she just naturally breaks the sensors of every cute-o-meter in the vacinity when meeting fans with cameras. She's like all these Japanese idols when they are not on stage or in a photo studio; any other place when someone pulls out a camera, they all automatically make peace signs! They don't even know why they do it! It's like a doctor pounding your knee and up goes your foot!"<br />Me: "Hopper, I'm about to consider something about pounding and rabbit's feet..."<br />Hopper: "Hey, don't get me wrong, she's perfectly fine how she is with all these mannerisms, seifuku, yaeba..."<br />Me: "Hopper, now explain to all these nice folks what those words mean."<br />Hopper: "'Seifuku' is something about a school uniform. Like this tartan tie suggests. She's like a J-pop Bay City Rollers fan for the naughties. Isn't that what they're calling this decade?"<br />Me: "There's nothing naughty about this cutie, Hopper. Now tell everyone what yaeba is."<br />Hopper: "That's when the cutiebabes don't fix their teeth."<br />Me: "Hopper! What it is, is some of the J-pop delights have teeth like that from heredity and they don't alter them, because they think it is cute and fine like they are. You know, like how one of the idol style fashions was a couple of decades ago...like Miyoko Yoshimoto in the 1980s...or Seiko Matsuda in her early years before she got them straightened...<br />Hopper: "No one who'll read your site knows who those singers were!"<br />Me: "Of course a few do! My flickr site can be seen all over the world and has a variety of fans from Japan and elsewhere!"<br />Hopper: "Thanks to me!"<br />Me: "Thanks to the photos mostly, and less than half of them include you, Hopper!"<br />Hopper: "They visit your site hoping to see more of me!"<br />Me: "Be quiet, Hopper, if you want to go to Japan again this year!"<br />Hopper: (silence).<br /><br />That always works.<br /><br /><img alt="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1208/1205047085_61e8d2a066.jpg" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1208/1205047085_61e8d2a066.jpg" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/134311379_425f5b3bfd.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/134311379_425f5b3bfd.jpg" /><br /><br /><img alt="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/117/308396886_6f509d5c99.jpg" src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/117/308396886_6f509d5c99.jpg" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div id="photoImgDiv2232663437" style="width: 502px;" class="photoImgDiv"> <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2219/2232663437_b86f94316d.jpg?v=0" alt="" onload="show_notes_initially();" class="reflect" width="500" height="375" /></div><br /></div><br /></div><pre id="line1"><br /></pre><br /></div><br /></div><br /></div>DUI lawyer in LAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14740175990216970446noreply@blogger.com0
